Britney Spears is an American recording artist and entertainer. After spending some time with a pop music group Spears signed recording contract with Jive Records and their first album . . . Baby One More Time was number one in the Billboard 200. That success launched career as a pop icon. The credit for reviving teen pop in the late 1990s goes to Spears. Her first album also established her as an international sex symbol. There was some controversy regarding the influence of her public image on teenage girls. Amidst all the controversy Spears released three more albums which all went on to become number one albums. She has sold about 83 million records worldwide.
